I need a E52 or E55 without camera, and I have yet to hear plans of the camera-free version of both models. Can Nokia make some of these camera free phones and ship to Singapore ?

Rip your DVD movies to hard drive with ease!
Sun, 29 Nov 09, 4:47 pmMagic DVD Ripper is a very easy and powerful DVD ripping software, which can convert DVD to VCD, SVCD, AVI(DivX), WMV, MP3, iPod and PSP formats or backup DVD to hard drive without any loss of quality. You can then enjoy them anytime without DVD discs or burn them to blank DVD or CD discs using burning software. Compared with competitors, Magic DVD Ripper has both convert function and backup function combined with faster ripping speed. While other software may be unable to rip some certain DVDs or yield unsync audio/video, Magic DVD Ripper almost always functions perfectly.
HD media players
Fri, 27 Nov 09, 6:49 pmVisited SITEX 2009 yesterday, and noticed a proliferation of HD media players, models ranging from AC Ryan, Brite view, JCMatthew, Amoi V6, Siemens Gigaset HD-790T and many other models, released some 3 – 6 months ago. Obviously, I have not been following the scene since I bought a Himedia RMVB player about a year ago. Basically, there are two types that are popular in the market now, one based on the Sigma 8635/8655 chipset, and the other Realtek 1073/1283 chipset. You can check avforums and MySiLU 思路高清 for more information on HD media stuff. You can also buy some of the made in china sets from a online shopping sites, like taobao. If you are not in china, you have to purchase items via agents like taobaonow, nanyanglife etc.
wireless@sg speedtest at 12noon
Wed, 11 Nov 09, 2:45 pm45KB/s or 360Kb/s is what you get from wireless@sg, although its widely publicised at 1Mbp/s. General surfing, blogging, youtubing is acceptable but bandwidth throughput is unstable, ranging from 2KB/s to 80KB/s, and what the heck, its free! If you want better speed and stability, try Starhub MaxOnline Premium 12Mbps, you should get download speeds at 1500KB/s but SGD$60 poorer every month. While downloading stuff using wireless@sg, I tried upload a 126 KB jpg file and the upload failed twice. After halting all my downloads and downsize the jpg file to 88KB, I managed to upload to tinypic but its damn slow. Did a speedtest at speedtest.net, upload speeds only register a miserable 0.1Mb/s.
Confused of the units associated with data transfer rate? Check out details at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Data_rate_units
-
45 KB/s = 360 Kb/s = 0.3515625 Mb/s = 0.0439453125 MB/s
-
1500KB/s = 12 000 Kb/s = 11.71875 Mb/s = 1.46484375 MB/s
Singtel mio TV BPL 2010/11 Early Bird Offer
Sun, 8 Nov 09, 9:25 pmSingtel mio TV has announced its Barclays Premier League 2010/11 Early Bird Offer at $23 (without ESPN News) and $25 (with ESPN News) for a 12 months contract from 1 Aug 2010. The offer ending 31 Jan 2010 also featured:
- UEFA Champion League 2009/2010
- UEFA Europa League 2009/2010
- Italian Serie A 2009/2010
- FREE – Football Frenzy Pack on 3 screens ($111.30) :
- UEFA Champion League 2009/2010
- UEFA Europa League 2009/2010

- FREE – Installation ($53.50)
- FREE – Modem ($68)
- FREE – 1st Set Top Box ($80)
- FREE – 30 days preview of all mio TV programmes
Well, its gonna cost $276 – $300 for the next BPL season, and I must say they are quite competitive comparing with current Starhub Sports group of $25 per month. At the same time, Singtel mio TV is offering Super saver packs that offer entertainment for the entire family ranging from kids, lifestyle, news, education, dramas, variety, comedies and music at $19.90, expecting to draw a large proportion of Starhub home viewers. Starhub better strike back soon, either by better content or pricing packages, otherwise they will surely lose a big share of the entertainment TV pie.
Fridge leaking water inside
Sun, 8 Nov 09, 8:45 pmFridge had been leaking water inside for the past few days, Agnes found out from her fren that all we need to do is to turn off the fridge for 24 hours, turned it on again and it should work. Well, I googled and found out that it may just work. The likely cause to the leak could be a blocked drain hole or blocked evaporator drain line with debris or ice, so turning off the fridge melts the ice, clears the blockage, and resolved the water leak problem.

RF modulator
Tue, 27 Oct 09, 12:12 amI have laid a RG6 cable between the TV point in the sitting room and TV point in the master bedroom during renovation earlier. I was thinking of using the cable to share cable signals from cable box via a splitter and the concept works well. However, I should have laid a composite cable or a component cable or hdmi cable that provide better video resolution, and also newer devices e.g. DVD players, cable boxes etc does not comes with RF outputs. Now, I have no choice but to purchase a RF modulator that converts the composite audio and video signals to RF modulated signals that can be fed into the television’s aerial / coaxial connector. For now, I would either exchange the existing cable box with another one that has RF output, I guess I still have to purchase a RF modulator for the other devices.
